The short version
  • Five funded accounts is the norm: Lucid, Tradeify, FundedNext and Take Profit Trader all cap you at 5, and My Funded Futures at 5 (or 3 if any of them is 100K or 150K).
  • Apex allows 20 active funded accounts (PAs) across every PA type, with unlimited evaluations.
  • Alpha caps qualified accounts at 5 on Zero, Standard and Direct, but at 3 if you hold any Advanced account. Top One sets a separate limit for each plan, from 3 to 10 accounts.
  • Limits usually apply per household, not just per person. Lucid, Tradeify, Top One and FundedNext say so explicitly, and Alpha allows one individual per household.
  • Copy trading across your own accounts is widely allowed (Lucid, Alpha, Tradeify, MFF, FundedNext, Take Profit Trader, and Top One within the same plan and size). Copying between people is banned everywhere it's addressed. Apex's own pages conflict, so check before you copy there.

Most futures prop firms cap you at 5 funded accounts, counted per person and usually per household. Apex is the outlier at 20 active funded accounts, Alpha allows 3 to 5 depending on the plan, and Top One sets a separate limit for each plan. Evaluations are looser: several firms let you run as many as you like. Almost every firm lets you copy trades across your own accounts, but not between people. Here is each firm's limit and copy-trading rule, from their own documentation.

*Apex's site and Tradeify's help center blocked our Oct 23, 2026 check, so Apex's row and Tradeify's copy-trading cells come from search-index copies of their help centers. Tradeify's 5-account limit, its household rule and its ban on copying between people were read in its Funded Trader Agreement. Everything else was read on the firms' help centers or agreements that day. Firms change these limits, and promotions sometimes raise them, so confirm in your dashboard before you buy.

Apex Trader Funding: up to 20 accounts

Apex allows 20 active Performance Accounts (PAs), counting every PA type together, and the limit applies across a household, companies and connections. Evaluations are unlimited, so you can run as many attempts as you want; the cap bites once accounts are funded.

Copy trading is the open question. One Apex help page allows copying across your own PAs, while its compliance pages bar copy or mirror services. Until Apex's pages agree, ask Apex support in writing before you copy trades across PAs.

Tradeify: 5 sim-funded accounts

Tradeify's Funded Trader Agreement allows 5 sim-funded accounts in any mix of Growth, Select and Lightning, counted per individual and per household. One extra rule: if you hold an Elite Live account, you can't hold any other Tradeify accounts, and neither can anyone else in your household.

Per search-index copies of Tradeify's help center (it blocked our Oct 23 check), copying your own trades across your own accounts is allowed as long as you don't hold opposing positions. Copying trades between people is prohibited by the Funded Trader Agreement.

Lucid Trading: 5 funded per household

Lucid allows 10 active evaluations and 5 funded accounts, with every Lucid funded type counted together: 3 Direct and 2 Pro accounts, for example, use up all 5. That's 10 evaluation and funded accounts in total, and up to 5 live accounts. The limits are per household or family, and if one household member is live, the others may not trade sim accounts.

Lucid states that automated trading systems and trade copiers are permitted. Hedging is not.

My Funded Futures: 5 or 3 sim-funded accounts

MFF allows 10 active evaluations. Funded, you can hold 5 sim-funded accounts if all of them are 25K or 50K, or 3 if any is 100K or 150K. Some plans have their own limits on top: Builder allows 1 sim-funded account per user (2 on the 25K), Rapid EOD allows 3, and the small Studio accounts 1 at a time.

Copy trading is allowed across all MFF account types, including Tradesyncer, Tradovate group trading and external copiers.

Alpha Futures: 3 to 5 qualified accounts

Alpha's limits depend on the plan: 5 qualified accounts on Zero, Standard and Direct (Standard accounts bought before Jul 27, 2026: 3) and 3 on Advanced. Holding any active Advanced qualified account caps your total at 3. Alpha allows one username per person and one individual per household.

Copying your own trades across accounts in your own name is allowed. Automated trading, group trading and reverse trading are prohibited.

Top One Futures: limits per plan

Top One counts each plan separately, and all accounts within a plan must be the same size:

Top One planMaximum accounts
Elite Access (including Elite Access Intraday)10
Elite Daily5, evaluations and funded combined
Instant Sim Funded5 on 25K/50K, 3 on 100K/150K
Ignite10
LaunchPad3

On top of those, you can buy at most 10 evaluations per rolling 30 days. The limits are per household, and if anyone in the household is live, no sim accounts are allowed. Promotions can raise them: at our Oct 23 check the homepage advertised copy trading up to 20 Elite Access accounts.

Copy trading is allowed only between accounts of the same plan type and the same size, and never with another person. Manually mirroring trades, or trading correlated assets across mismatched accounts, counts as copying. Copying out to other firms is fine if the trades start on Top One.

FundedNext: 5 funded, 10 a month

FundedNext allows 5 active funded accounts of any size or model, and at most 10 issued per calendar month. Challenges are capped by allocation rather than count: up to $750K combined. The limits apply per user and per household, judged by the same address or IP.

FundedNext allows copying your own trades between your own FundedNext accounts, and even to your own accounts at other firms, as long as they're in the same, verified name. Signal services and group trading are not allowed.

Take Profit Trader: 5 funded accounts

Take Profit Trader allows unlimited tests and 5 active funded accounts per person, counting PRO and PRO+ together, with at most 10 passed-test activations in any 30 days.

You can copy trades across your own accounts, but only with an approved copier: Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto Compliance Edition, or a platform's built-in copier.

"Between people" means copying another trader's signals or trades into your account, or theirs into yours. Every firm that addresses it bans it; Lucid and MFF don't say either way in the pages we read. *Apex's pages and Tradeify's help center are from search-index copies, because both blocked our Oct 23 check.

What counts as a household?

Most limits are per household, not per person, so two traders at one address usually share a single limit. FundedNext defines it as the same address or IP. Top One and Lucid add a live-account rule: if anyone in the household is trading live, the others may not trade sim accounts. Alpha allows one individual per household. If you share an address with another trader, ask the firm before you both buy.

How to run multiple accounts without breaking the rules

  • Count funded accounts across plans. At Lucid, Tradeify and FundedNext every funded type shares one limit.
  • Match sizes where the firm requires it. Top One only allows copying between accounts of the same plan and size.
  • Never hold opposing positions across your own accounts. Hedging across accounts is the classic way to lose all of them at once.
  • Use the copier your firm approves. Take Profit Trader names its approved copiers; elsewhere, check the help center.
  • Keep it in your own name. Every firm here that addresses copying between people bans it, and the account limits are counted per person or household.

What happens when you do break one of these rules is covered in what happens when you break a prop firm rule.
